Petaylish Two is a dialect of Petaylish created to enhance the richness of the Petaylish language and to experiment with modifications without altering Petaylish itself.

Differences between Petaylish and Petaylish Two

 

In Petaylish Two, there are twenty-one letters representing twenty-one phonemes as opposed to Petaylish which has forty letters representing twenty-five phonemes.

Petaylish’s grammatical letters are treated only as prefixes in Petaylish Two. XA, XI, XO and XU are replaced with va, ve, vo and vu respectively. WI, YI and ZI are replaced with we, ye and ze respectively.

 

Petaylish and Petaylish Two use mostly the same lexicon. However, in Petaylish Two, the phoneme /r\/ is replaced with /j/, /eks/ is replaced with /v/, /ɫ/ is replaced with /l/ when it is preceded by a vowel or when it is the first letter in a word and is followed by a vowel, /ɫ/ is replaced with /il/ when it is preceded by a consonant or when it is the first letter in a word and is followed by a consonant, and /ai/ is replaced with /e/.

 

In Petaylish Two, suffixes are more specific.

In Petaylish Two, possessive adjectives take an adjectival ending and must follow the noun they modify unlike Petaylish in which possessive adjectives take a noun ending and may follow or precede the noun they modify

 

Unlike Petaylish, in which numbers take an “n” ending regardless of part of speech, in Petaylish Two, numbers take the ending of the part of speech that they are acting as. There is also a slight change to the number system.
